Celebrating 20 Years of Not Trying Too Hard

It all started when Denver shoegaze/dream pop/garage rock/psychedelic upstarts Cat-A-Tac were planning the release of their debut EP. Along the way, they were forging connections with media manufacturers, radio promoters, publicists, concert promoters, journalists, venues, bands in other cities, like minded music fanatics, and other interesting weirdos. At the same time, all of Cat-A-Tac's friends in the music realm were doing the same thing. So, collaborating to everyone's collective advantage seemed to make sense. The vehicle for that collective endeavor became Needlepoint Records. The secret formula - friendships, camaraderie, mutual inspiration, respect, inclusiveness, and championing like-minded artists - also made sense. The result has been a run of successful releases, college radio hits, media attention, tours, good times, hangovers, and joy. Now 20 years down the line, we still just wanna do what we do, and keep having fun.
